ERCISERCIS Virtual Seminars are being offered by members of the European Research Center for Information System (ERCIS). ERCIS is an international network of scientists conducting cooperative research in the field of Information Systems (IS). It includes twenty associated international member institutions and more than ten partners from practice. ERCIS headquarters is located at the University of Münster.

Liechtenstein Chapter of the AISThe main organizers of the ERCIS seminar are Prof. Dr. Jan vom Brocke, Head of the Hilti Chair of Business Process Management and President of the Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS at the University of Liechtenstein, and Dr. Armin Stein, Managing Director of the ERCIS network and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Information Systems at the University of Münster. They are co-authors of the paper "On the importance of agile communication skills in BPM education: Design principles for international seminars", published in Knowledge Management & E-Learning: An International Journal, which you can read and download by following this link.

Prof. Dr. Jan vom Brocke

Prof. Dr. Jan vom Brocke

Jan vom Brocke is Head of the Hilti Chair of Business Process Management at the University of Liechtenstein, Director of the Institute of Information Systems and President of the Liechtenstein Chapter of the AIS. Furthermore, Jan is winner of the 2013 AIS Innovation in Teaching Award, awarded for this seminar! Jan has more than 15 years of experience in IT and BPM projects and has published more than 200 refereed papers in the proceedings of internationally perceived conferences and established IS journals, including the Business Process Management Journal (BPMJ), Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE) and MIS Quarterly (MISQ). He serves on the editorial review board of the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS) and acts as a guest editor e. g. of the Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS). Jan is author and co-editor of 17 books, including Springer's International Handbook on Business Process Management and the recently published Springer book Green BPM - Towards the Sustainable Enterprise. Jan is a member in the EU Programme Committee of the 7th Framework Research Programme on ICT and serves as an advisor to a wide range of institutions.

Dr. Armin Stein

Dr. Armin Stein

Since 2010, after finishing his PhD at the University of Münster, Dr. Armin Stein is Managing Director of the ERCIS (European Research Center for Information Systems) network. Together with a team of three PhD students, he shapes and puts into actions the network's ideas. One of them is this Seminar. During his PhD studies at the Department for Information Systems, Armin's work was and still is related to Business Process Management with a focus on the conceptual modeling and workflow management, addressing the technical aspects of BPM. Other research interests are related to the areas of Supply Chain Management, and Gender and Diversity in IS.
